Journalism Department of The College of Communication and Fine ArtsThe Journalism Department offers undergraduate (B.A.) and graduate degrees (M.A.) in journalism with concentrations in advertising, broadcast news, Internet journalism, newspaper / magazine, public relations, and journalism administration. It is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism (ACEJMC). This department also sponsors Teen Appeal, a citywide newspaper written by high school students and distributed by the department. This sponsorship fosters an appreciation of journalism in high schools located in the Memphis area. Faculty members in the Journalism Department provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge needed to succeed in the field of journalism. Faculty members also serve as journal editors and present their work at national and regional conferences. |
