Communication Department of The College of Communication and Fine Arts

This department provides B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in communication in a variety of different concentrations. Students may focus upon rhetoric, communication studies, and video and film. The Communication Department is also home to WUMR-FM 92, which is the only jazz radio station in Memphis. Communication faculty are well known scholars in the fields of rhetoric, interpersonal, and film and media studies. Communication faculty members also serve as assistant editors to journals, author various books and articles, present professional works at regional and national conferences, and hold important positions in the communication discipline. Some of these appointments have included presidencies in the Southern States Communication Association, Tennessee Communication Association, National Communication Association, and the University Film and Video Association.
