Art Department of The College of Communication and Fine Arts
A strong liberal arts education combined with specialized training is the backbone of the art department’s degree programs that consist of the B.F.A., M.A. (Art History) and the M.F.A. Students may focus upon architecture, ceramics, graphic design, painting, and sculpture. Student experiences are enriched through access to multimedia labs, workshops, and exhibitions. In addition, students are challenged professionally and personally through student competitions in various exhibits such as the B.F.A. and M.F.A. art shows as well as the Annual Juried Student Show. Faculty members’ concentrations include architecture, ceramics, graphic design, painting, and sculpture. Faculty art works are represented in national and international exhibitions and prestigious publications. The Art Department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Foundation of Interior Design Education Research.
